Prof. Jonathan “JT” Torres
Founder and head instructor of Essential Jiu-Jitsu, Jonathan “JT” Torres, is a World Champion third-degree black belt under Andre Galvao, a world-renowned competitive black belt and head of the Atos Jiu-Jitsu Association. Professor Torres is one of the best-known American-born jiu-jitsu competitors and has competed and medaled at the highest levels in the sport. Torres is also a highly acclaimed professor and coach, having taught a wide range of adult and kid's classes throughout his career, and a well-respected member of the international jiu-jitsu community, giving seminars on his distinct style of jiu-jitsu at academies across the globe.

TSMA is great! The coaches and members are friendly and encouraging. I was nervous to join a martial arts class, especially at my age, but going to TSMA has been a wonderful experience. I’ve learned so much and I’ve had a lot of fun doing it.
My wife and I took some classes here and absolutely feel in love with the atmosphere. We signed our daughter up for the summer camp and she loved it they truly go above and beyond for the kids. They planned activities each week for all the kids from field trips to activities at the camp. They always keep in great contact with the parents letting us know what was going on and what they would be doing week to week. All of the coach’s and team members are always willing to help and answer any question you have no matter what they are. Our daughter has now started taking MMA classes during the week and has shown amazing positive change in behavior and manners since starting with coach John. I would truly suggest that anyone interested in starting a journey for themselves or the kids go here first they will make you feel like part of the team not just another number they are truly amazing. Chantal is amazing she has helped us with each and every step from starting summer camp to helping us get our daughter enrolled in the after school care and the mma classes she has been a huge part of what has made this place feel comfortable for all of us and can not show enough appreciation for what they have done.
TSMA is a great place for both kids and adults to train! Our whole family has been going for over 2 years. The staff and coaches are awesome! It really feels like we are apart of a family!
